WESTWOOD, Kan. (Feb. 1, 2022) Centrus Health of Kansas City, a physician-led, clinically integrated network (CIN), is pleased to announce its partnership with NFM (Nebraska Furniture Mart), as their exclusive network for NFM employees. NFM is Centrus Health KC’s first direct-to-employer contract.
“We are excited to be the exclusive provider network for Nebraska Furniture Mart,” said Jill Watson, Executive Director of Centrus Health of Kansas City. “Given our experience in delivering value-based care, and our extensive physician network, we look forward to helping NFM offer health care to employees that results in improved outcomes, healthy living skills, and high patient satisfaction while lowering costs.”
Centrus Health KC brings providers together in a partnership designed to improve the quality – and lower the cost – of patient care across the entire continuum. It works collaboratively with participating physician practices, sharing data in order to avoid duplicating services, and holding each other accountable against clinical quality and efficiency standards. Centrus Health KC is currently comprised of more than 2,000 providers representing four major health systems in the greater Kansas City metro and many independent practices.
“Partnering with Centrus Health enables us to provide an innovative option for high quality, affordable care to our employees at Nebraska Furniture Mart,” said Tiffaney Skaw, Nebraska Furniture Mart Strategic Benefits Manager. “We are thrilled to partner with Centrus Health as we continue to place high importance on employee health, while offering opportunities to offset rising health care costs.”
Arthur J. Gallagher, one of the world’s largest insurance brokerage, risk management and consulting firms, served as the broker for the contract.
Centrus Health KC’s network currently includes physicians representing the employed medical groups of North Kansas City Hospital, AdventHealth Shawnee Mission, The University of Kansas Health System and Children’s Mercy Health Network, and independent physicians including members of the Kansas City Metropolitan Physician Association.
In addition to the NFM contract, Centrus Health KC currently manages more than 165,000 patients in value-based contracts with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City (Blue KC), Aetna and Oscar Health as a transformative, commercial Accountable Care Organization (ACO). The partners have demonstrated a shared vision of ensuring Kansas City residents have access to high quality care at more affordable prices. Centrus Health KC also participates in the Medicare Shared Savings Program – an ACO designed to improve quality and lower the total cost of care for patients insured under the Medicare program.
